Aigües de Manresa optimizes water resource management with a new network of 14 weather stations installed by Darrera

The new stations, directly integrated into the client’s control system via Modbus communication, provide real-time local weather data that supports more efficient and sustainable management of operational processes.

Aigües de Manresa relied on Darrera to implement a meteorological observation network consisting of 14 Vantage Pro2 GroWeather stations installed at strategic locations throughout the municipality and its surroundings. The stations are equipped with precision sensors to measure wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, and solar radiation. They also calculate derived parameters such as dew point, wind chill, heat index, sunshine hours, evapotranspiration, and heating and cooling degree days.

Each station is mounted on a tiltable tower, which facilitates access to the sensors and simplifies maintenance tasks. Darrera provided a comprehensive service that included initial technical advice, supply, installation, and the civil work required to secure the towers on concrete foundations.

A key feature of the project is the integration of the stations via the Modbus protocol. This allows meteorological data to be incorporated directly into Aigües de Manresa’s control system, enabling centralized monitoring and improved decision-making.

With this new network, Aigües de Manresa strengthens its ability to monitor environmental conditions and manage its resources sustainably, ensuring continuity and quality of service for the community. At the same time, Darrera reinforces its commitment to developing advanced technological solutions tailored to the needs of essential service providers.
