Darrera has successfully completed the installation and commissioning of a new high-performance weather station at the northern entrance of the Port of Barcelona, as well as the relocation and modernization of an existing station at the liquid bulk terminal, further strengthening the meteorological observation network of the Barcelona Port Authority.
The new equipment enhances the municipality’s ability to access accurate, real-time weather information in the urban area, becoming a key tool for environmental monitoring, municipal management, and public information services.
The unit provides accurate real-time data, enhancing the safety of port operations, helping prevent infrastructure damage from severe weather, and facilitating the sharing of current weather conditions and local weather forecasts with port users and the general public via the Weathercloud online platform.
This new station enhances the club’s ability to provide accurate, real-time information about the weather conditions along the Ca’n Picafort coastline, which is crucial for optimizing the planning of nautical activities and ensuring the safety of its members.
The local government and residents can now check the current weather conditions in real time and the 6-day local weather forecast through the Weathercloud online platform for municipalities, which also allows to generate reports and graphs from the historical database fully open to the public.
The new wind stations allow remote and real-time monitoring of the wind conditions in different areas of each plant in order to evaluate the wind impact on the solar panel structures.
The new station installed at the highest point of the plant will provide accurate and reliable data that will make it possible to assess the existing wind resource and estimate the potential energy production.
The instrument is specifically designed for rescue teams, civil protection and firefighters, and is supplied in a briefcase with different accessories for installation in emergency vehicles, tripods, cranes, drones, GoPro cameras, etc.
Darrera configures and supplies a high performance ultrasonic anemometer to the Expiatory Church of La Sagrada Família (Barcelona), which will allow accurate monitoring of wind conditions at the top of the monumental building, in order to further increase the safety of workers and visitors.
Darrera has designed and installed a wind speed alarm system on the new ferris wheel of the Tibidabo Amusement Park (Barcelona), which will further strengthen the security measures at the attraction.
