The weather information provided by the stations will help optimize maintenance operations and increase safety in the metro network.
Darrera will shortly expand the MeteoMetro network with the installation of 7 new weather stations in different locations throughout the city, in addition to the already existing one in the Canillejas facility of Metro de Madrid.
The new weather stations are equipped with sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation and atmospheric pressure, and feature a system for automated and real-time weather data sending to the Internet, which allows for remote monitoring and management from the control center.
