Darrera installs a Vantage Pro2 weather station with an additional AirLink air quality sensor at Miquel Martí i Pol public school in Sant Feliu de Llobregat

The new station provides students with the opportunity to learn practical concepts about weather and climate, while promoting environmental awareness and allowing real-time sharing of weather and air quality data with the local community through the WeatherLink online platform.

The Vantage Pro2 station supplied and installed by Darrera is equipped with precision instruments to measure wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, and atmospheric pressure. Additionally, it features an AirLink air quality sensor, which measures the concentration of PM1, PM2.5, and PM10 particles. This is particularly important for students with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory or heart conditions. The system is powered by solar energy, ensuring fully autonomous operation, and sends data to the cloud via Wi-Fi for remote monitoring and management.

Having a weather station in the educational center offers numerous advantages. In addition to promoting hands-on learning by allowing students to observe the operation of the instruments and analyze data on the online platform, it facilitates interdisciplinary integration by incorporating areas such as science, technology, and mathematics into related educational activities. Likewise, it promotes environmental awareness and enables connections with the local community by publicly sharing meteorological and air quality data, thereby contributing to scientific knowledge overall.
