Darrera installs a Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station at PreZero’s controlled landfill in Zalla to enhance the plant’s environmental monitoring

The real-time weather information provided by the unit enables PreZero staff to take early action in response to adverse conditions such as strong winds, heavy rainfall, or extreme heat, supporting more efficient waste management and reinforcing operational safety at all times.

Darrera continues to expand its presence in industrial environments with the installation of professional weather stations tailored to the specific needs of each client. The new Vantage Pro2 Plus station, installed at PreZero’s landfill in Zalla (Vizcaya), allows monitoring of local weather conditions with great accuracy and reliability. This data is essential in such applications, where factors like wind, rain, or temperature can directly affect particle dispersion, daily waste cover operations, or the use of deodorization systems.

The station is equipped with sensors that measure key parameters such as wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, solar radiation, and UV radiation. Based on these measurements, it also calculates derived parameters including dew point, wind chill, heat index, sunshine hours, and evapotranspiration. The unit operates autonomously using solar power and features a local communication system that allows for direct data download into the plant’s computer system, ensuring seamless integration into existing environmental monitoring processes.

With this new installation, PreZero reinforces its commitment to efficient and responsible environmental management, in line with the highest standards of sustainability and operational safety.
