Darrera expands the meteorological observation network on the roads of the Pyrenees with the installation of a new station on the N-141

Real-time data provided by the station enables the road conservation service to optimize the planning of maintenance tasks and reinforce road safety in the event of adverse weather conditions.

Located in the mountain pass of Portilhon, the new compact Vantage Pro2 GroWeather station is equipped with precision sensors to measure key meteorological parameters such as wind, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure, and solar radiation. Additionally, it has a 4G communication system for remote data transmission to the Weathercloud online platform, from which the public can also access the rest of weather stations in the road network.

The addition of the new station allows early response by the road conservation center personnel to meteorological changes, especially in the face of extreme events such as strong wind gusts or heavy rain. The Weathercloud online platform provides technicians with advanced monitoring and management tools, such as graphs and reports, facilitating data analysis for decision-making related to maintenance operations and road safety.
