Airport operators can now monitor the intensity and accumulated rain remotely and in real time through the Weathercloud online platform.

The new precipitation station installed next to the runway of the José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, the Ecuadorian airport with the most international passenger traffic, is equipped with a solar power system for fully autonomous operation and a datalogger with 4G communication system for automated data transmission to the cloud. Airport operators can make use of the Weathercloud platform to configure rain rate alerts, generate daily, monthly and annual reports, create custom plots and even export the data for use in other applications.
