Description

Accurate evaluation of soiling losses in solar energy systems

The soiling sensor is an indispensable component for evaluating energy output losses caused by dust, dirt or other environmental contaminants accumulated on the surface of photovoltaic (PV) modules. It consists of two irradiance sensors: one kept clean and the other exposed to natural soiling under the same conditions as the modules. The sensor calculates the soiling ratio in real time, helping to optimize maintenance schedules and improve the performance of solar energy systems. The instrument complies with IEC 61724-1 requirements for Class A photovoltaic monitoring systems.
