Darrera has designed and installed a wind speed alarm system on the new ferris wheel of the Tibidabo Amusement Park (Barcelona), which will further strengthen the security measures at the attraction.
The new Tibidabo ferris wheel, which replaces the one removed in 2010, allows a panoramic view of the city of Barcelona from a height of 500 meters. The final work leading up to its initial run has been completed with the installation of a system for monitoring wind conditions, located on the central axis of the structure.
The set consists of a 3R UAV01 Ultrasonic Anemometer, which provides high accuracy and reliability, and a monitoring system with alarms to alert park operators if wind gusts exceed preset security thresholds.
