Through the Weathercloud online platform for municipalities, residents can now check the current weather conditions in real time and the 6-day local weather forecast, in addition to creating reports and graphs from the historical database fully open to the public.

Utrillas joins the growing network of municipalities that have a weather station to record and share their weather data with citizens. The new Vantage Pro2 Plus station installed by Darrera is powered by solar energy for fully autonomous operation based on renewable energies and is equipped with sensors for measuring wind speed and direction, temperature, humidity, precipitation, atmospheric pressure and solar and UV radiation.

The station has been installed on a meteorological folding tower, with the anemometer at a height of 10 meters and the rain gauge installed separately at 1.5 meters from the ground, in accordance with the recommendations of the Spain’s State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Darrera has carried out the complete installation, from the civil works for fixing the tower to the configuration and commissioning of the system.

The weather data recorded by the station is sent via 4G to the Weathercloud online platform for municipalities, allowing anyone to check it remotely and in real time. In addition, the information is stored in a historical database fully open to the public, helping to improve knowledge of the evolution of the climate in the municipality over the years.
